Laughter Yoga is not a substitute for proper medical consultation for physical, mental and psychological illnesses and may not be suitable for everyone. Laughter Yoga is normally appropriate for individuals whose physician allows exercise. However, it is contraindicated for people suffering from uncontrolled high blood pressure, heart disease, epilepsy, any kind of hernia, severe backache, major psychiatric disorders and late stages of pregnancy. This list is for guidance only and is not meant to be exhaustive. As with any new exercise program, consult with your trained medical professional before participating if you have any concerns or issues regarding your personal health. Anyone already undergoing physician-prescribed therapy should seek the advice of his or her doctor before reducing the dosage or stopping any such treatment. Even a healthy person experiencing discomfort while laughing should discontinue the practice immediately and seek expert medical advice. Please use common sense: avoid strain and pain.
Laugh N Live Well, Cathy Hansen, as well as any other persons leading a Laughter Club or Laughter Yoga classes you may be attending, decline any responsibility from incidents resulting from the use of the Laughter Yoga technique. It is participants’ responsibility to pro-actively consult trained physicians for approval before participating in any Laughter Yoga session. By taking part in a Laughter Yoga session you accept full responsibility for your physical fitness, and safe participation in the activity. We strongly encourage you NOT to engage in any activity that makes you feel uncomfortable.
